At Ella & Bella Pet Company, we’ve built our entire operation around one belief: when you design a job around what someone can do, extraordinary things happen. We offer meaningful, supported employment for adults with disabilities in a kitchen environment that’s positive, structured, and genuinely fun.

Each role on our production team is a real job with real responsibilities, designed to build transferable skills that extend far beyond our kitchen walls.

Our Roles

Prepping Specialist

Our Prepping Specialists are the foundation of every batch. In this role, you’ll carefully process and measure raw ingredients by weight, fill and label pre-pack containers with precision, and maintain a clean, organized workstation. Accuracy and attention to detail are the superpowers of this role.

Duties:

Ingredient Assembly: Gather and measure raw ingredients precisely by weight in pre-pack containers.

Container Labeling: Clearly label each pre-pack container after they are filled to ensure organization and accuracy.

Sanitation: Maintain a clean and hygienic workstation to ensure the safety and quality of our pet treats.

Mixing Specialist

Mixing Specialists take our prepped ingredients and bring the dough to life. You’ll operate a stand mixer following all safety protocols, monitor the dough for the correct consistency, and portion and distribute the finished dough to the rolling team. If you like seeing things come together, this is your station.

Duties:

Stand Mixer Safety: Follow all safety protocols when operating the stand mixer, including proper bowl locking and speed control.

Ingredient Integration: Take prepacked ingredients and pour them into the mixer, ensuring you scrape out the entire container so nothing is wasted.

Consistency Control: Monitor the mixing process until the dough reaches the correct, uniform consistency.

Portioning & Distribution: Weigh the final batch of dough, divide it into equal pieces and supply each piece to the dough rollers.

Workspace Care: Keep the mixing area clean and sanitize equipment between batches to maintain our high standards.

Dough Rolling Artisan

Dough Rolling Artisans transform each portion of dough into a uniform sheet ready for cutting. You’ll hand-flatten the dough, feed it through a professional dough press, and recover every scrap to make sure nothing goes to waste. Patience and a steady hand make a great Dough Rolling Artisan.

Duties:

Dough Preparation: Take fresh dough from the Mixing Specialist and flatten it into a consistent square shape by hand.

Dough Press Operation: Feed the dough through the press, rolling it back and forth until it reaches and maintains the correct thickness.

Station Handoff: Carefully remove the flattened dough from the press and lay it on the counter for the cookie cutting artisans.

Scrap Recovery: Gather all leftover pieces of dough, form them into a new ball, and repeat the process until all dough has been utilized.

Equipment Care: Keep the dough press and rolling area clean and free of debris throughout the shift.

Station Sanitation: Thoroughly wipe down and ocean the dough press and surrounding workspace once the rolling process is finished.

Cookie Cutter Artisans are precision craftspeople. Working from the edges of each dough sheet inward, you’ll stamp out our signature bone-shaped biscuits and return all scraps for re-rolling. Clean cuts, careful hands, and pride in your work define this role.

Duties:

Precision Cutting: Use a cookie cutter to stamp out bone shapes, working carefully from the outer edges of the dough inward to maximize the number of treats.

Material Management: Gather all leftover dough scraps and hand them back to the dough rolling artisan so all dough is utilized.

Sanitation: Thoroughly clean the cookie cutters and wipe down the workstation table once the cutting process is complete.

Baking Specialist

Our Baking Specialists manage the oven from start to finish. You’ll arrange freshly cut treats on lined baking sheets in a specific pattern, manage oven loading and precise timers, and transfer cooled treats to the dehydrator. Safety, timing, and consistency are everything here.

Duties:

Tray Arrangement: Take freshly cut bone-shaped cookies and arrange them on lined baking sheets using a specific grid pattern to maximize production.

Oven Management: Safely operate the oven, including turning it on, loading the sheets, setting precise timers, and removing baked goods.

Production Transition: Once treats are cooled, carefully remove them fro the cookie sheets and transfer them to dehydrator racks.

Equipment Maintenance: Thoroughly clean and sanitize cookie sheet after each use to ensure they are ready for the next batch.

In this role, you’ll label each bag with a “Best By” date, fill every package with exactly 20 biscuits, insert a desiccant pack, and run each bag through a heat sealer for a professional finish. Pride in the final product lives here.
